Bad Intentions
Carmelita, hold me tighter...

So your feed’s getting cluttered with all these Bad Intentions posts & articles. And by now, you’re thinking: what’s the deal already?
Well, for one, “Bad Intentions” is officially released. Amazon, B&N, your local bookstore (though likely as an order, not an in-stock book just yet.)
Fifteen stories. Fifteen writers. Crime-infused. Bleak noir. Hard-hitting character drama. Yeah, it’s a motley crew of bite-size delights.
And all inspired by the late, great Warren Zevon, musical poet of the downtrodden, the desperate, the weary.
Even better, proceeds benefit Philabundance. So, read a bunch of cool stories and fight hunger in the Philly/South Jersey area.
I’ve read them all and can honestly say—this is a high-quality release. Stories that will linger long after finishing. Stories that make you think when the pages are closed and you’re working through that last glass of gin before lights out.
And I got one of them too.
“Carmelita.”
You might remember the Zevon song. Dude strung out on heroin. That pearl-handled deck. Pawning his Smith Corona. Warren’s imagery stands out. Like any good noir writer.
But don’t let the music disguise it all, Zevon’s a crime writer at heart.
My Carmelita’s a bit different.
A nineteen year old kid bites off more than he can chew when he gets hooked on a dazzling stripper by the name of Carmelita.
Is she leading him on, or down a path he’ll never forget?
I tried to capture that feeling when you’re young and fearless, and stupid enough to believe you’ll live forever.
Think Suburban Long Island, NY. The nineties. Shopping malls. Drinking forties. Dreaming of better days.

Can’t promise you, but I’d be pretty shocked if you’re disappointed.
